Having my bachelorette in Tulum, Mexico was by far the best decision…ever!
Amidst the pandemic, I started thinking of ideas for where to go for my bachelorette because I HAD to do a bachelorette. That was not about to miss me, pandemic or no pandemic. Based on other’s travel plans and what I heard about Tulum, it seemed as if it was the easiest place to get to in terms of restrictions, inexpensive to get to and will promise a good time! Well, it definitely didn’t miss on a few of those areas.
I’m going to break down my bachelorette in Tulum and give all the details on where we stayed, what we did and a few tips you could use while in Tulum! Of course, all of these opinions are my own.
Accommodation
Since it was a group of 7 of us ladies, an airbnb villa was the best option. It was not only about the size of the group but also the experience I wanted. I wanted us to all be in one roof so we can easily roam around in each other’s rooms, have a common area to meet up and play games, drink and just chit chat. As well as somewhere we could treat like our own home so that we can play music as high or low as we wish, have a chef cook for us and not have to worry what time food or drinks close off because we have the kitchen to ourselves. That’s the kind of vibe I was going for!
Now to the beautiful, luxurious villa we stayed at featuring 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a private pool. It’s called Casa Lulu Luxury Villa and it went way above all of our expectations. The pictures does it no justice. I mean, it was PERFECT! So quaint, so beautiful, so spacious, comfortable & cozy. I really loved it and highly recommend it. Casa Lulu is also super close to the restaurant strip and beach. It’s a nice in-between location in a lovely neighborhood with cute restaurants and cafe’s nearby. Not to mention, the hosts are the sweetest! When they say mi casa es su casa, they mean it!
What We Did
Everyday the itinerary was full of activities for my bachelorette in Tulum. I wanted to see and do as much as possible in 4 days. We went to various restaurants that had delicious cuisine, fire shows, fun music and sparklers such as BAK by Harry’s, Tantra Tulum and Rosa Negra Tulum. We had a yacht day, went to Taboo Tulum Beach Club, did zip lining and ATV riding, visited cenotes and so so much more.
To check out exactly which restaurants we visited and what activities we got into, check out part one of my YouTube vlog below highlighting it all.
11 Tips When Visiting Tulum
- Book your flights to Mexico as soon as you can. Do not wait because it can go from $200 to $500 real quick.
- Prepare for a 2 hour drive from Cancun Airport to your hotel/villa in Tulum.
- Change your money to Pesos because most places charge in Pesos and the exchange rate can get ridiculous.
- Take mosquito repellant wherever you go. Like seriously, the mosquitos are no joke there.
- In high season, prepare to spend 30 mins – 1 hour waiting in traffic on the restaurant strip for somewhere that is 5-10 minutes away. One way in, one way out. Consider staying on the strip if you plan to frequent bars & restaurants.
- Transportation is expensive for big groups. It will cost you around $120 – $150 USD roundtrip to get anywhere.
- The sparklers at the restaurants are fun and beautiful for 5 seconds, after that, you won’t be able to breathe from the fumes. You have been warned!
- Be the first in line to get in when visiting the cenotes. It is the calmest, most beautiful thing you will experience.
- Don’t drink the water and be careful where you eat!
- There was no vaccine requirement or quarantine protocols upon arrival when we went. We only had to fill out a health declaration form. However, make sure to check the requirements when you plan to visit.
- Did I say carry bug spray?
All in all, I had an amazing bachelorette and trip to Tulum. I’m so grateful for my best friend sister cousin and my girls for treating me to an amazing time! I actually can’t wait to go back because despite all that we did, there is still so much more to see! I hope this inspires your next trip to Tulum, Mexico!!
